Yes, we are a private surgical office.  The client will have to pay for the service.   

Sorry, we do not accept walk-in clients.   All our appointments are by appointments only. 

Our surgeons make their operating schedule, on-call schedule, medical meetings, international conferences months in advance.   Their office dates are then scheduled accordingly.   In other words, the surgeons are not in the office daily.   Prior to the appointment, the client also needs to complete the client registration forms as well as payment.  

However, our team will try our best to arrange an appointment for the client as soon as the surgeon is available.

We are a private surgical office providing elective services to our eligible clients.  We aim to provide quality and efficient surgical services with without long wait-time.   However, we do not offer urgent services.  If the your condition is considered urgent, please go to the nearest emergency/hospital.

For our general surgery service, virtual consultations can be arranged around 2 weeks’ time.  Depending on the type of in-person consultation, an appointment can be arranged around 3 weeks’ time.

For vascular surgery (cosmetic veins) service, in-person consultations can be arranged around 3-4 weeks’ time.

General surgery service appointment is usually around 30-45 mins.

Vascular surgery (cosmetic veins) service appointment is around 45 mins.

Our appointment duration is very generous.  Please note that our surgeons aim to provide each appointment on time and therefore may not be able extend your appointment beyond the scheduled time.   From time to time, we have clients who would like to have extra time for further discussions.   If the client let our office know in advance, we can schedule the extra time in at an additional cost.   

We charge the client upfront but will provide company receipts and all reports to the client.  It is up to the client to make their own claims.   As each insurance company’s policy is different, we highly recommend that the client consult with their insurance company first, prior making appointments.

This depends on your appointment date and the type of service you require, our surgeons may provide his service to you at our West Broadway office, or it can be conducted at their other clinics.  Our 550 West Broadway office is the central booking office.   Our team will inform you the details of your appointment location at the time of your booking.   All the clinic locations, for both Dr. Emile Woo and Dr. Jerry Chen are within 10 minute drive from our West Broadway office. 

Our surgeons have their operation dates schedules months in advanced.   Therefore, surgeries and hospital procedures will be scheduled in those dates.  Our office will assist the clients to complete all the required paperwork so they can get the earliest operation date possible. 

Private colonoscopy or gastroscopy is not office based.   It is performed at the renowned private facility, Cambie Surgery Center, in Vancouver.

The Cambie Surgery Center in-house anesthetist will be happy to consider the client’s request and will accommodate the request whenever possible.  Though the anesthetist will make the final decision, based on the client’s health history and age, for safety reason.  Even the surgeon will need to respect the anesthetist’s decision.
